Come along on a Tuesday morning and choose to use the gym, take part in arts-based activities or tai chi. Complete your visit with a sociable visit to the coffee shop.
No need to book in advance, just simply turn up and enjoy!

*Please note, that activities will not go ahead during half-term, summer and Christmas holidays. Also, Tai-chi sessions may not go ahead on some Tuesdays, we are awaiting dates.
Important Note
We have a coffeeshop in our centre if you would like to get refreshments but we suggest doing this 15 minutes before the art activity.
Spring Term Art Activities 2026
January

20th January: Tissue Paper Collage Blending - A gentle, sensory activity. Use water and brushes to blend "bleeding" tissue paper onto card to create soft, vibrant washes of colour.

27th January: Mindful Colouring & Pattern Work Relax with large-print mandalas and geometric patterns. We provide chunky markers and pencils for a calming, repetitive creative session.
February

3rd February: Simple Relief Rubbings (Frottage) Explore textures by placing paper over items like coins, leaves, or lace and rubbing them with crayons or charcoal to reveal hidden patterns.

10th February: Design Coasters - Create your own set of 2 coasters with the choice of using fabric, pens and paints and embroidery. This activity is designed for ease of use and low fine motor requirements.

17th February: NO SESSION (Half-Term)

24th February: Marble Ink Experiment - A fascinating session using inks and food colouring to create one-of-a-kind marbled patterns on paper.
March

3rd March: Nature Collage on Contact Paper - A tactile experience using clear contact paper. Press dried flowers, leaves, and twigs directly onto the sticky surface to create a natural masterpiece.

10th March: Air-Drying Clay Memory Ornaments (Part 1) - Enjoy the therapeutic feel of soft clay. We will use stamps and cookie cutters to shape ornaments and create textures.

17th March: Air-Drying Clay Memory Ornaments (Part 2) - Complete your creations! Today we will paint and finish our dried ornaments using thick brushes and simple acrylics.

24th March: Bubble Wrap Printing High sensory fun! Paint directly onto bubble wrap and press paper down to create satisfying textures and patterns.

31st March: Collaborative ‘Line Journey’ Drawing A social drawing game where everyone contributes to a large piece of paper. We will also try "pass-the-drawing," where you add to a piece for one minute before passing it to the left!
April

7th April: Pop Quiz – Life-Changing Moments - A sociable and stimulating quiz session focused on history and personal memories.

28th April: Spring Mobile Photography - Explore the centre grounds and use your phone to capture five images of "Shape" and five images of "Colour" in nature.
Summer Term Art Activities 2026
May

5th May: Collage Surreal Art - Let your imagination run wild! Use old magazines, newspapers, and leaflets to create weird and wonderful surrealist artwork.

12th May: Scribble Art & Mindfulness - A pressure-free way to be artistic. Scribble freely on the page, then find and colour in the shapes created by your lines.

19th May: Easy Beading on Pipe Cleaners - Excellent for focus and gentle hand exercise. Use large, bright beads and flexible pipe cleaners to create simple bracelets or rings.

26th May: NO SESSION (Half-Term)
June

2nd June: Painting with Sponges & Cotton Buds Experiment with different tools to create dots and textures. These alternative "brushes" are perfect for those with grip issues or tremors.

9th June: Poetry & Illustration Enjoy listening to seasonal poems read aloud, then use soft pastels or chalk to draw the images and feelings the words inspire.

16th June: Sun Paper Art - Use special light-sensitive paper and the June sunshine to create beautiful silhouettes of everyday objects.

23rd June: Textured Handprint Mural - A collaborative project using paint and materials like sand, glitter, and seeds to create a large, tactile handprint piece for the centre.

30th June: Colour Therapy with Oil Pastels - Drawing from real flowers, we will focus on the joy of blending vibrant colours together on paper with soft, easy pressure.
July

7th July: Mobile Phone Photography Walk - A gentle-paced walk around the centre grounds. We will focus on capturing "Texture" and "Colour" followed by a social chat about our photos.

14th July: Summer Bookmarks - Make a practical keepsake using watercolours, stencils, and stickers. Finish your summer-themed bookmark with a bright ribbon or tassel.

21st July: Last Community Session Summer Party - Join us for our final session of the term to celebrate with food, music, and great company!
