Print-Making
With Rachel Reynolds
Rachel graduated with a BA (Hons) in Printed Textiles from Loughborough University (formerly LCAD). Shortly after, she received her first commission for site-specific hand-painted backdrops, followed by further commissions for printed textiles in churches and building atria, as well as wall hangings for domestic interiors.
As a qualified adult education tutor, Rachel has extensive experience leading a variety of print and collage workshops for children and adults across the UK. Additionally, she works part-time as a Digital Textiles Technician at Winchester School of Art, where she provides technical support and workshops for BA and MA Textile Design students in hand and digital printing, fabric dyeing, and CAD.
Important Note
We have a coffeeshop in our centre if you would like to get refreshments before the workshop but we suggest doing this 15 minutes beforehand.

An introduction to Gelli & Monoprinting
Explore the endless possibilities of Gelli plate printing in this fun, experimental workshop.
Join artist Rachel Reynolds for a hands-on session exploring the spontaneous world of Gelli plate printing. This workshop focuses on the excitement of the reveal: that wonderful moment when you peel back the paper to see your unique creation. Rachel will guide you through the process of building rich, professional designs from the ground up.
What you will explore:

Masks and Stencils: Use shapes and cut-outs to control your composition and create sharp edges.

Building Layers: Master the art of overprinting to add depth and texture to your work.
By the end of the session, you will walk away with a collection of one of a kind artworks and the confidence to keep creating at home. No prior experience is necessary: just bring your curiosity and a willingness to play.

Botanical Monoprinting
Have fun creating unique botanical monoprints on paper in this experimental session.
Join Rachel Reynolds for a hands-on session where you will learn to create stunning monoprints using the textures of the garden. We will use real flowers and botanicals to build intricate designs, focusing on how nature can be used as a living stencil. This workshop is a wonderful way to experiment with organic shapes and vibrant palettes.
