Looking to add a personal, handmade touch to your Christmas cards this year? Join our inspiring Seasonal Emroidery Class and discover the joy of free motion stitching. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to transform fabric and thread into unique and beautiful festive creations.

 What will you be learning?

During this engaging 3-hour session, you'll learn the exciting technique of Free Motion Machine Embroidery to create:

• A beautiful, free motion stitched Christmas card. This will be achieved by applying the techniques you've learned during the lesson. A selection of festive designs will be provided for you to choose from.

You will be taught by a qualified and passionate sewing and textiles tutor who will provide supportive guidance as you understand the fundamental skills of free motion embroidery.

This workshop is ideal for individuals who are already confident in using their sewing machines and are keen to explore the creative possibilities of free motion embroidery.

What to bring:

You will need to bring your own sewing machine to the class. Your machine must be a standard domestic model in good working order and have a cover for the feed dogs (teeth) if they cannot be lowered. Importantly, your machine will need to have been PAT tested before the class and display an in-date sticker as proof of this. (The Dart Centre Team can arrange PAT testing if you contact them!) 

Fabrics, embroidery hoops, threads, and a window card will be provided by the tutor. Please remember to bring your own bobbin, scissors, or snips.

About the Tutor:

Hello, I'm Elaine Hobden, a lifelong garment maker with a passion for sharing the art of dressmaking. I honed my skills through a City and Guilds Fashion and Design course, where I learned the intricacies of designing garments, drafting and cutting patterns, and the professional techniques of garment construction. My unique touch involves combining hand embroidery with machine embroidery to add a personal flair to my designs.
