Drawing and Painting with Emma Morrissey

As we gently move out of lockdown we are committed to keeping our staff and customers as safe as possible and will be following, reacting to, government guidelines.
We are hoping to restart our evening and weekend activities from Tuesday 1st September 2020.
This may mean reduced numbers in classes, or unfamiliar teaching spaces so that we can accommodate the appropriate social distancing requirements.
If your activity would usually use shared resources, you may be required to purchase an additional resource pack. More details to follow.

Emma Morrissey is a degree trained Fine Artist with over ten years of experience in creative arts. Emma's practice has had a key focus on realism in an illustrative style through mediums such as pencil, pastel and charcoal. In recent years, her practice has seen a shift in style and use of media, where she also focuses her art towards the abstract and fantasy with impressionism, drawing inspiration from our relationship with everyday emotion.

All materials and refreshments are included in the price, please bring your own lunch. 

Impressionism - Still Life, Saturday 19th September

Learn art movement impressionism, made famous by the likes of Van Gogh. Use various tools from pencil to pastel. Learn observation techniques, mark marking, basic outline sketching, shading & how to blend colour.

Cubist Art in Acrylics, Saturday 17th October

An introduction to the cubism movement made famous by the likes of Picasso. Using various materials, learn about composition, simplicity, colour wheel & more and create your own cubist art piece!

Introduction to using pencil, Saturday 21st November

This class is a great introduction to using graphite or coloured pencil. You will learn about blending techniques, the grades of a pencil, observational techniques, shading and incorporating colour to your artwork. 

Portraiture Basics - Using Grids, Saturday 12th December

Learn how to create a grid system that will work on a variety of images to help you with proportion, likeness & composition.
